Paris, France in winter by Anthony Delanoix

Lingerie Francaise’s edit of the latest cool things made in France

Here is Lingerie Francaise’s edit of all that we love that’s hot right now (or hot yet again) and all the rage in France, circa November 2020. We try hard to keep our finger on the pulse of all cultural matters. These are just a few of our favorite things:

“Vue d’en face”, the latest single by Yelle

he duo who brought us “À cause des garçons” and “Je veux te voir” just released “Vue d’en face”. A mix between fresh pop and melancholic melodies, "Vue d'en face" was written during confinement and seems to evoke boredom while staying at home, as though our neighbors’ life was more exciting than our own. The singer can be seen wearing pyjamas or wrapped up in a blanket, spying on her neighbors with binoculars. Can anyone relate? Those who have done this before should not throw stones… and listen to this new “shelter at home” anthem.

Watch La Révolution on Netflix

We know it’s a frustrating time right now and if you’re out for blood but don’t want to end up in jail, JUST live precariously through this epic and savage new series made in France. It checks all the boxes:
Beautiful cinematography, check.
French landscapes, check.
Suspense and mystery, check.
It IS about an unknown virus spreading within the aristocracy, where infected nobles attack the common people. It may hit a bit too close to home for some on several levels, but…
 Ridiculously decadent costumes, check.
Also, REVOLUTION!
Enjoy.

A homemade stew to warm up bodies and hearts

Boeuf Bourguignon

We just tried this Boeuf Bourguignon recipe and YUM! We realize this beef stew takes 5 hours to make but it is seriously worth it… and don’t tell Julia Child, but you can skip a few unnecessary steps, such as pouring out the fat (because fat is delish), sieving anything, emptying and washing the casserole, or going back and forth between the stove and the oven. We also didn’t add extra braised onions and kept all the initial vegetables and herbs in the dish. We didn’t however skip the “pour a whole bottle of red wine” in step. Boeuf Bourguignon is a classic, hearty winter dish in France and best served with potatoes (roasted, baked, mashed, whatever) on the side. Let us know what you think!
