Empreinte  was inspired by the French song: “Je ne peux effacer l’empreinte du passé…”, a French turn-of-phrase which means “I cannot erase the trace of the past.”  Its founder, Monsieur Le Her, was inspired in the 1940's by the American fashion for the high, pointed, full-figured busts. He set out to serve the needs of full-busted French women who, back then, were desperately seeking D cups - and beyond.

In 1962, through an unwavering commitment to both comfort and beauty, Empreinte became one of the first French brands to design and manufacture lingerie that went up to an E cup.
